Personality: Magic is Willow Creek’s resident pain in the ass. He’s incredibly intelligent and boy doesn’t he know it. Magic seems to find his enjoyment in winding up the staff whenever possible and making everyone’s lives as difficult as he can. He’s never easy to catch in the paddock, an exercise which he views as a game, he’ll wait until you’re inches away from him and then try to run off at the last minute. Once you finally do catch him he’ll dance around endlessly, incapable of standing still. Everything is a game to him. The colt loves to wind up his handlers and push things as far as he can. If there’s one thing he loves its attention and he really doesn’t care if it’s negative or positive; if he wants your attention, you’ll sure as hell know about it. Magic is mischievous with a face like butter wouldn’t melt and yet somehow it’s hard not to love the cheeky colt despite his poor manners and lack of respect. When in his stall he’s affectionate and will always prick his ears up and nicker a greeting at anyone passing by. He gets along with other horses to some extent; the difficulty is that his playful nature can easily wind up certain horses and Magic delights in any sort of negative reaction so he’s best kept away from certain horses. When it comes to people he definitely plays favourites and top of that list is Lucas King who has successfully won his respect. This larger than life colt has definitely quickly made a name for himself around the stable Racing Style: Closer Whatever race Magic is running in he has to look flashy. He’s an eternal show off, from the way he holds his head in the parade ring to the way in which he runs the race he wants all eyes to be on him. Nothing excites him more than race day and it’s clear just how much the colt loves to race and to win. He doesn’t break from the gate that fast but that’s fine as he prefers to be at the back where he settles in quickly as soon as the race begins and bides his time, conserving his energy whilst he settles into an easy stride. He likes to be at the back where he can watch everyone with his sharp eyes and assess the field and of course he’ll never allow the front of the pack to be far enough away that it’s impossible to catch up. He decides to make his move when he wants to and his jockey will have a hard time changing his mind because he’ll fight them all the way in order to race the way he wants. He generally makes his move in the final turn, a move that it stunning to watch because of the massive kick of speed the colt possesses as he streaks towards the front. There’s a leggy elegance in the way he moves which just makes him enjoyable to watch. Once he’s made his move he won’t stop even once he’s overtaken everyone, he likes to leave as much space behind him as possible and still runs like he has a horse right beside him even when several lengths in front of anyone. He loves to leave the other horses in the dust, it’s no sort of win at all to this colt is he can’t win in style.
